Christian Formation

In my first month at Emmanuel, I have enjoyed meeting many of you and getting to know this community more deeply. One of my priorities has been to gather information about Christian Formation here at Emmanuel in preparation for the start of our program year in September. I’ve been delighted and excited by the number of talented educators in this parish. We are able to draw from a deep well of spiritual wisdom to guide us in the lifelong process of living our faith.

This fall, we plan to continue with our existing foundation in Children’s Formation, where our younger members will learn to listen to Scripture with wonder, ask sacred questions, and to understand they are beloved by God. Our Adult Formation offerings will include a wide range of topics that are sure to invite you into deeper relationship with God. 

Christian formation is how we live into the promises made at our baptism, to continue in the apostles’ teaching and the prayers, and we never grow out of that. We are always being formed by Scripture, prayer, and in our relationships with one another. In the coming weeks I look forward to sharing more details about our programs starting this fall.
