What to Expect
-
No, they’re not! Each service at Emmanuel is thoughtfully designed to be unique. See above for details, and here’s more of what you can expect:
Sunday Services
8:00 am Service:
This is a Holy Eucharist service (also known as Communion or the Lord’s Supper) featuring spoken word without music. We use Rite I language—reminiscent of the King James Bible—making it our more traditional offering. Attendance typically ranges from 40 to 60 people, and the service lasts about 45 minutes.
10:00 am Service:
This is also a Holy Eucharist service but includes the uplifting presence of the Emmanuel Choir. While still traditional, this service uses the contemporary Rite II language. It usually draws 180 to 240 attendees and lasts about an hour. If you’re unable to join in person, you can catch the livestream on our YouTube page.
Wednesday Noonday Healing Eucharist
This contemplative service offers a quieter, more intimate experience. It includes optional one-on-one prayer with the priest and anointing with holy oil. It’s a “come as you are” service with attendance ranging from 8 to 20 people and typically lasts under 30 minutes.

Children are welcome at all of Emmanuel’s offerings! Nursery care is provided every Sunday from 9:00 am till noon.
We also encourage children to participate fully in our services! We know Church can be long for some children, and eventually everyone gets the wiggles. It’s okay, Jesus said, “Let the little ones come to me!” That’s how kids get used to worship! We have children’s bags and soft toys available in the back to help keep your little one occupied for when the sermon gets a little long.
For Kids in 2nd grade and up, we encourage acolyting. Acolyting is a way to actively participate as leaders in the worship service.
For those who like to sing, our Cherub Choir (ages – 2nd Grade) and Choristers (3rd Grade and up)
Children’s Sunday School is available following the 10:00 am service, at approximately 11:15 am.

While navigating Emmanuel can be difficult, we’re glad you’re coming! To find the best entrance, you must first ask why you’re coming to Emmanuel:
Sunday Services:
For Worship most people use the two red doors on Massachusetts Ave which go directly into the Church.
For Events in the Parish Hall use the double doors on S. Ridge St. right next to the Parish House.
For Children’s Ministries use the front or side door of the Parish House located on S. Ridge St. to the left of the Church.
To Visit Staff use the office entrance in the sunken courtyard on S. Ridge St. right next to the Memorial Garden.

Here at Emmanuel, we welcome all people with open arms! While there is not a designated attire for our services, you will find most families in dressy-casual attire.
