Journey Deeper into the Labyrinth
A few months ago, I wrote about my previous parish, the Church of the Mediator, and their labyrinth, which Emmanuel borrowed for the season of Advent. Many of you walked that sacred path, stepping into its quiet invitation of prayer and reflection.
Now, I’d like to invite you to go deeper—both into my past and into the practice of the labyrinth.
On Saturday, March 8, in the Parish Hall, we will host two guided labyrinth walks:
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
These walks will be led by my dear friend, Sissie Wile.
Sissie is a trained labyrinth facilitator, spiritual director, and former director of Education for Ministry (EfM) at Sewanee. More personally, she was a parishioner at the Mediator and my spiritual director. She is a person of deep wisdom, incredible kindness, and an inquisitive spirituality. Throughout my time at Mediator, I sought to learn as much as I could from her gifts.
Now you too can learn from her. On March 8, Sissie is traveling to the Sandhills to share the history of the labyrinth and its spiritual practice, guide a contemplative walk, and lead a reflective conversation on the experience. On Sunday, March 9 at 9:00 a.m. she will also facilitate a brief conversation on Labyrinths.
I invite you to join us in this sacred opportunity for prayer and reflection
