Century Project & Realm Launch
The Century Project is Well Underway! Guided by Dr. Ferguson, we have explored 138 years of Episcopal history in Southern Pines. Through the leadership of our parish, we have identified both opportunities and challenges in various ministries, including pastoral care, formation and education, fellowship, and worship. Most importantly, we have begun to hear from you—gathering your experiences, ideas, and hopes for growth.
This rich collection of Emmanuel data continues to delight and inspire me. Your contributions to the Century Project are already challenging us in meaningful ways! Themes of consistency, accessibility, and communication resonate throughout the feedback we’ve received. A clear desire for more has emerged—more worship, more small groups, more space, and more fellowship. The consensus is clear: the church is thriving, and people want to be here more.

In response to this energy, we have already begun making adjustments. A critical focus has been improving our website to provide easier navigation, up-to-date information, and better interaction for online users.Another key focus is launching our digital directory. In the coming weeks, we will invite members to sign up for our online directory, Realm. Realm is built on the same church software Emmanuel has used for decades, managing membership data, contributions, and secure internal communications. It will also facilitate ministry group management, event signups, and enhanced information flow. We invite you to take this on as a Lenten discipline—signing up for Realm. We will be available to assist with this on Sunday mornings.
Of course, this is only the beginning! To continue our momentum, we have reorganized our upcoming Century Project gatherings:
• March 23: Instead of covering four ministry areas as we did last Sunday, we will focus on just two: Outreach and Music.
• April 27: Over lunch, we will discuss our partnership with the Episcopal Day School, followed by a campus walk to explore the exciting changes both organizations are envisioning.
• May 18: We will present our full findings and discuss future opportunities for Emmanuel.
Thank you for your commitment to the future of Emmanuel! I look forward to continuing this journey with you.
