Ushers

Ushers are assigned certain tasks, including welcoming arrivals while handing the the service leaflet, passing the collections plates and keeping the flow moving along to the altar rail during Communion. On holidays such as Christmas and Easter, when the church is full, the ushers might need to guide people to empty seats. They are also responsible for the official headcount at each service, which is why they can be seen walking slowly down the side aisles. This is an excellent family-friendly alternative to sitting in the pews and we encourage you to consider becoming an usher as an individual or a family.
