Deepening Discipleship & a Vestry Update

In the fall of 2025, your Vestry finds itself at the reins of a church asking for more: more fellowship, more outreach, more children and youth ministries, more engagement with a God who both challenges and delights us. 

Emmanuel is not simply growing in membership—it is deepening its discipleship.  We see this in countless ways. Perhaps most visibly in our Sunday attendance, but even more profoundly throughout the week in study groups, active service, and engaging prayer.  Emmanuel is not a “one-day-a-week” church; it is a continually active parish, seeking to live out our mission of reflecting the light of Christ from generation to generation every day.

Meeting this growth requires a Vestry functioning at its highest capacity—leaders who can listen prayerfully for the needs and longings of the congregation, discern a faithful vision for the ministry God is calling us toward, and craft a thoughtful plan for bringing that vision to life. 

With that in mind, I am delighted to announce that last month your church leadership voted to appoint Dr. Marcia Krasicky to fill a vacant 2026 seat on the vestry. 

Marcia has been a part of Emmanuel since moving to Pinehurst after retiring from the Navy in 2005.  Over the years, she has served faithfully on the Outreach Committee, Altar guild, Policies and Procedures Committee, Parish Life Development Committee, EDS Search Committee, and Vestry.  She and her husband, Gary, have managed Emmanuel’s Family Promise program, participated in several mission trips to Costa Rica as part of our global outreach, and coordinated the Courtyard Garden Project.  Marcia will officially join the Vestry at the October meeting on Tuesday.

Looking ahead, at our Annual Meeting next month, we will elect four new vestry members to continue the good work already underway.  The Vestry Nominating Committee has received four wonderful candidates so far.  If you are interested in being considered for a Vestry position, please contact Marie Turner, Parish Administrator, (910) 692-3171 or mturner@emmanuel-parish.org, for a Vestry Candidate Application Form. All applications must be received on or before October 26, 2025.
