Upcoming Music Opportunities and Recital

The days of summer are coming to an end, the Moore County Schools are back in session, and the programmatic year for the church will begin on Wednesday, September 9th. If you have been dreaming or dreading joining a musical ensemble in our parish, now is your moment.

There are some wonderful opportunities for you and your family to exercise the gifts God has given you, whether they are seasoned, or ripe for development:

Cherub Choir – For our youngest singers, age 4 through grade 2 – Wednesdays at 4:00 P.M.

Chorister Choir – For singers 3rd grade through 12th grade – Wednesdays at 5:00 P.M.

Emmanuel Choir – For those age 18-108. Rehearsals are Wednesdays at 6:30 P.M., with support from our Choristers on Sunday mornings.

The Red Door Ringers – Our fabulous handbell ensemble, which rehearses every Thursday at 6 P.M. and rings monthly at our 10 A.M. Eucharist.

All rehearsals are held in the church. ALL ARE WELCOME! For more information, please contact me at hferguson@emmanuel-parish.org.

Additionally, our Bach’s Lunch Recital Series will kick off on Friday, September 11th with a program of jazz music offered by City Lights Jazz and John Hatcher, saxophone.

The following Friday, September 18th, I’ll be in recital with organist Stephen Gourley at The Village Chapel in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the chapel’s Austin/Zimmer pipe organ. I’ll be performing works by Bach and Franck. Come join us in experiencing the largest pipe organ in Moore County. All are welcome.
