Sing Along with Us…
There is a great 1970 one hit wonder by Mungo Jerry called In the Summertime. I’ve sung it since I was a kid, and when June arrives (my birth month), I often find myself humming it.
“In the summertime, when the weather is high, you can stretch right up and touch the sky…”
Later in the song the lyrics are:
Sing along with us
Dee-dee-dee, dee-dee
Da-da-da, da-da
Yeah, we're hap-happy
Da da-da
Dee-da-da, dee-da-da, da-da-da
Yeah, da-da, da-da-da
Da-da-da, do-da-da (alright, alright, alright)
Alright
Consider this an invitation to come along and sing with the Emmanuel Choir and the Choristers this summer. While there are no formal Wednesday evening rehearsals during the months of June, July, and August, the choir will continue to sing for much for the summertime. Come up to the choir loft, where the view is fine, and you can stretch right out and sing for joy.
As the sign for The Episcopal Church proclaims: All are welcome.
If you would you like to sing along with the choir this summer, please make note of the schedule below. On the Sundays the choir sings, rehearsal will begin in the church at 9 A.M. and conclude around 9:40 A.M.
If you’ve been wondering what it is like to use your voice to help lead our liturgies, now is a great time to give it a try. No need to audition or notify me. Just come! Participation does require the navigation of stairs.
