Pray with us Sign-up Form

  • You’re invited to pray with us!

“pour out our heart before Him” (Psalm 62;8) “if two of you agree on earth about anything they ask, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven ” (Matt.18:19) St. Monica’s chapter of the Daughters of the King at Emmanuel Episcopal Church are sponsoring a prayer vigil for the month of January. You participate from your own private prayer closet or wherever. All you do is sign up to cover a specific hour of the day, any day of the week. We’ve split the day into Morning Prayer, Noonday Prayer, Evening Prayer and Compline. You can do your own prayers and /or the order of worship in our Book of Common Prayer (BCP). You pick the time and the day, sign up on line and then pray at that time on that day through the month of January. If you sign up for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday you’ll actually be praying 5 times for this month. All other days are for four times. Of course you can sign up for as many times as you can and will do. The number praying at any given time doesn’t matter as long as each day has someone praying at each of the four times. In the Book of Common Prayer(BCP): Morning Prayer starts on page 37 Noonday Prayer is on page103 Evening Prayer starts on page109 Compline is on page127 In about the middle of the (BCP) is a great variety of wonderful prayers you can use with these orders for prayer or on their own. For example, on page 817 #11 – Prayer for the Parish ; page 818 #12 – Prayer for a Church Convention or Meeting This is an important month for our parish between the Town Hall meetings and the Vestry retreat. We want to undergird our church decisions and plans with prayer. So let’s join together and let our requests be made known to God as we pour out our hearts before Him.
