The Reverend John Grey Tampa was born in Rochester, New York and grew up in Syracuse, graduating from Christian Brothers Academy. With a B.A. in History from Le Moyne College in 1974, he taught U.S. History in the North Syracuse School District for eight years. In 1982 John left teaching and moved to Charlottesville, Virginia where he served for thirteen years as Vice President of Lakeland Tours, a large student educational travel company.

In 1995, Father John gave up his successful business career to follow a long, heartfelt desire to enter the ministry. He attended Virginia Theological Seminary in Alexandria, Virginia, graduating with a Master's Degree in Divinity in 1998. After serving as Assistant Rector to St. David's Episcopal Church in Wayne, Pa, Father John became Rector of the historic St. Peter's Church in the Great Valley in September 1999, and in 2006 accepted the call to Emmanuel.
John is married to Julie and has three children: Michael, who is married and lives in Charlotte, N.C.; Wendy, a nurse living in Syracuse, N.Y.; and Grey, attends Appalachian State University. Father John is an accomplished preacher and teacher, and enjoys both his adult and children's teaching responsibilities as well as his pastoral duties.
The Rev. Amy J. Huacani, Assistant Rector
Email
The Reverend Amy J. Huacani was born in Souderton and then at age five moved to Paoli, Pennsylvania. She always has known of God's love and was actively involved in church throughout her childhood. She began to venture south after high school and has lived there ever since, first at college at the University of Kentucky. Amy has always known life on the other side of the world as her father and his extended family is Bolivian and as she has also traveled there many times.
She is a lifelong learner and has studied at the University of Kentucky, with a B.A. in Elementary Education and the University of Tennessee with a M.A. in Social Work. While in college, she sensed a strong calling to serve as a priest and then also completed a Master's degree in Divinity from the Baptist Theological Seminary at Richmond with additional study at the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary.
Amy was ordained in March 2006 in Knoxville, Tennessee in the ELCA tradition (Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) and is finishing the process to be received as a priest in the Episcopal Church. She has served at several parishes, all in North Carolina! She is single and looks forward to meeting her husband someday. She loves to travel (especially to a retreat center in WA State each year), spend time with her family, follow SEC sports (mainly her alma maters' teams) and especially make pottery at the wheel. While she has more books than she can count, she enjoys counting the miracles in her life, namely being a priest who is also a potter.
